The problem is almost never ability

A student who is getting a 4 is usually not bad at mathematics. They have been taught a sequence of steps without being shown what the steps are for. It works until the questions change shape, and then it stops working entirely.

The fix is not more past papers. It is going back to the structure underneath the topic, which usually takes one or two sessions, and then rebuilding the technique on top of something solid. Students stop guessing which method to use, because it becomes obvious.

Courses

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA)

HL and SL. Algebraic method, proof and calculus — the route for engineering, physics, computer science and quantitative economics. Heavy emphasis on Paper 1, where most marks are lost, and on presenting work the way examiners award for.

IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI)

HL and SL. Modelling, statistics and technology. Well suited to social sciences, business, design and life sciences — and the curriculum where our AI programme genuinely helps, because the statistical modelling is the same work.

IGCSE Mathematics

Core and extended. For Years 10 and 11, and for students building the foundation they will need before starting the IB Diploma.

HKDSE Mathematics

Compulsory Part, plus Module 1 and Module 2. Exam technique, presentation and the topics that reliably separate a 4 from a 5**.

Math IA support

Guidance on choosing a question that can actually be explored, finding usable data, and meeting the assessment criteria. The exploration remains the student's own work throughout — we help with method and structure, never with writing it.
